TCNJ School of Business ranked #72 by Business Week Magazine
Folks,
I wanted to let all of you know that TCNJ's School of Business achieved its first ever ranking in the 2008 Business Week Survey of Best Undergraduate Business Schools which was released this afternoon. TCNJ placed #72 out of the 96 business schools who qualified for inclusion in the 2008 survey (http://bwnt.businessweek.com/interactive_reports/undergrad_bschool/). As in previous years, a school's ranking in the Business Week survey is based on 5 key factors: a student survey, a recruiter survey, median starting salaries for graduating seniors, the percentage of graduates who go on to top MBA programs, and a measure of academic quality that captures test scores, student/faculty ratios, etc.
This is a terrific achievement and I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to all of you for helping make this happen. In the first 3 years of this prestigious survey, TCNJ did not generate a sufficient response rate from our students and our recruiters to qualify for a ranking. This year, all of you made a concerted effort to participate and the result is something all of you should be proud of. Think about it folks, there are over 1,500 colleges in the US that offer an undergraduate business education in the US and we can now say that we are among the top 100 Undergraduate Business Programs in the country. And, of the 96 schools who qualified for a ranking this year, TCNJ is the only school that caters exclusively to undergraduate business education. I am so proud of your efforts and I hope we can continue to come together and make further inroads on this survey as we look ahead to next year.
I plan on holding a ceremony over the next few weeks to commemorate this achievement including the unveiling of a new banner that will proudly display our status as one of the top undergraduate business schools in the US.
Congratulations to all of you for a job well done. Now, lets work together to make the 2009 survey even more rewarding with the goal of placing TCNJ in the Top 50.
Cheers,
