Finance

imageThe study of finance provides the student with the ability to analyze the allocation of financial resources within a corporation, individual, or governmental setting; to analyze sources of funding and the ramifications of financial decisions; and to allocate these sources of funds. Students who complete the finance program are employed by banks, financial institutions, brokerage houses, major corporations, and the government. Students are also prepared to continue their education in graduate school and through professional certification.

International Business

The international business specialization is an interdisciplinary program in which the various business disciplines that relate to international trade and investment are integrated with selected courses offered outside the School of Business. It is designed to provide students with a strong background in international business and an appreciation for diversity of cultures and business environments. In addition to the required three course credits of a foreign language....

 

  • All International Business majors are required to study abroad for one semester. In exceptional cases, students may propose an equivalent experience, subject to the approval of the International Business Program. A maximum of three international business courses taken abroad can be transferred to TCNJ as a substitute for their equivalents in the International Business concentration.  Of those, a maximum of two courses can be transferred as International Economics, International Marketing, International Management, or International Finance. Advisor's approval is required for the complete selection all courses to be studied abroad.

    IB students can now study abroad in over twenty TCNJ approved sites. In academic year 2006/2007, 15 IB students studied abroad. The most frequently visited foreign sites included: Sorbonne in France, Oxford University in the UK, The American University of Rome in Italy, Veritas University in Costa Rica, Macquarie University in Australia, and University of Ghana.   • Students are also encouraged to complete an internship in an approved international or multinational organization. Internships for credit in area organizations can be arranged through the College.
