New Academic year kicks off with president gitenstein's annual "welcome back" speech

Faculty, staff, students, and a number of special guests were on hand in Kendall Hall on August 29 to hear President Gitenstein's annual “Welcome Back” speech. The president highlighted last year’s institutional and individual accomplishments, before announcing initiatives for the coming academic year, including the formation of a Center for Institutional Effectiveness and the signing of a commitment to reduce, and eventually eliminate, the College’s global warming emissions. Rick Dell and baseball teamJess Kohut battled back from a horrific injury suffered while pitching for the Lions softball team, and in the process won the Honda Inspiration Award. Also, 31 student-athletes combined to win 46 All-America citations last year.
