Saving Your Varian Data
1) Before you save your NMR data, you need to know where to put it. There are two main data folders:
a. export/home/student/classes (contains subfolders for each class, designated by class number-i.e. 310 for CHE310, etc.)
b. export/home/student/research (contains subfolders for each research mentor (designated by faculty mentor name-i.e. Bradley for Dr. Bradley, etc.)
2) After you have obtained your NMR spectrum, choose the appropriate folder (from those described above) for your data.
3) To save the data, type the following command at the command prompt in the VNMR window:
svf ('/export/home/student/folder1/folder2/yourfilename')
where folder1 is either classes or research, folder2 is either the class number or faculty mentor name, and yourfilename is the name you choose for your file.

4) Click on the class number or faculty mentor, as appropriate. Click 'Change'.
5) Click on your filename. Click 'Return'. Click 'Load'. Click 'Process'. Click 'Transform'. You should now see your spectrum. Continue to process your data as you would normally (set threshold, label peaks, integrate, etc.).
Processing Your Data on Kekule (SunBlade in C302)
1) Login (username: student, password:chemist1) as you would on Magneto.
2) Open the VNMR software if it is not already open.
3) At the top of the VNMR window, there are a series of buttons. Click the 'Main Menu' button.
4) Click 'Data'. Click 'Set Directory'. Click 'Parent' until you see the folder labeled "Magneto". This will allow you to access your data that was saved on Magneto.
