System2000 FT-IR

NOTE: Please do not log out of the computer! Logging out causes the software to crash!

1) If the FT-IR software is not open, double click on the Spectrum icon on the desktop. Click OK.

2) Select Instrument from the toolbar; then choose Scan Background.

3) Change the scan range and resolution, if necessary. The typical scan range is 4000cm-1 to 400cm-1. The typical resolution is 4 cm-1. You do not need to change any of the other instrument parameters.

4) Click on Scan to scan the background.

5) When the background scan is done, click Overwrite to overwrite the background file.

6) Select Instrument from the toolbar; then choose Scan Sample.

7) Enter your filename and sample description. Do not change the instrument parameters.

8) Click on Scan to scan your sample.

9) To print your spectrum, select File from the toolbar; then choose Print.

10) To generate a peak table, select Process from the toolbar; then choose Peak Table. Enter the desired peak threshold and range. Click OK.

11) To print your peak table, make sure that the peak table window is highlighted. Select File from the toolbar; then choose Print.
