Research Interests/Experience
Dr. Hunt can be found in the classroom teaching Organic
Chemistry I and II for both majors and non-majors, and also
guides students in a section of Independent Research II. His
research interests consist of organic synthesis,
heterocyclic chemistry, organolithium/metalation chemistry,
and drug discovery/development. Another research interest is
the development of new synthetic methodology centered on the
construction of carbocyclic and heterocyclic systems with
applications to the life sciences. He has 26 years of
industrial experience primarily in the pharmaceutical and
agricultural industry. During his industrial
experience, he held adjunct teaching positions at Marshall
University (Graduate School), TCNJ, Stevens Institute of
Technology (Graduate School), and East Carolina University.
Personal
Outside of the classroom, Dr. Hunt enjoys spending time with
his family, all types of music, traveling, golf, and college
basketball- especially the Blue Devils.
