Special Needs Seating

Reserved seating will be provided for individuals with physical disabilities on Commencement Day at the Main Ceremony in Lion's Stadium. One guest from the same party may accompany the disabled person. Reservations for these seats must be requested in writing. To obtain passes for this reserved section, please contact:

Requests must be received by April 25, 2008
When submitting your request, please include the name of the graduate, if the guest is in a wheelchair, a contact telephone number and the home address where the seating passes are to be mailed. Passes will be mailed two weeks prior to Commencement.
Please contact your graduate’s Department for special seating provisions that you may require at individual Department Ceremonies.  Contact numbers are listed on the left hand column under the  “Important Phone Numbers” section of this web site.


Parking

Only vehicles bearing state-issued handicapped license plates and/or window placards will be permitted to park in the designated special needs parking areas (Lots 2a, 5 & 9B). Vehicles without handicapped plates will be permitted to drop off aged or infirmed guests/passengers at Paul Loser Hall Circle (see map ) or via Green Lane entry to Decker Parking, where your party can be escorted to the ceremony via golf cart.

Please advise your guests that walking distances between the Main Ceremony and the Department Ceremonies are considerable.

Traffic will be heavy! Plan on extra travel and parking time.


Signing for the Hearing Impaired

The Main ceremony on Commencement Day will have a sign language interpreter.

To request special needs seating for the Main Ceremony on Commencement Day, please contact Dana Matlock, Conference & Meeting Services (see contact information  above) in writing.  When submitting your request, please include the name of the graduate, if the guest is in a wheelchair, a contact telephone number and the home address where the seating passes are to be mailed.
Requests must be made in writing and must be received by April, 25, 2008. Passes will be mailed to you two weeks prior to Commencement.
If you have the need for a sign language interpreter at an individual Departmental Ceremony on Commencement Day, please make this request through the Office of Differing Abilities.
