Professor Johnson is an Assistant Professor with degrees from Northwestern University and The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She teaches a variety of courses, including Documentary, Television Production, and African Americans in Film. She is a filmmaker whose works have screened nationally at such festivals as Women in the Director’s Chair, Atlanta Film and Video Festival, New Orleans Film and Video Festival. Professor Johnson’s work has also been screened on WNET PBS in New York and has been honored at the Mill Valley Film Festival in California. Her most recent video work documents a prison program that helps women write their autobiographies.
