Fulbright
Provides recent college graduates opportunities for international experience. Recipients carry out year-long programs, which may include university coursework, independent research, classes in a music conservatory or art school, or special projects in the social or life sciences. Also includes opportunities to teach English in non-English speaking countries.

Gates Cambridge
Supports either postgraduate study or a second bachelor's degree at Cambridge University (UK). It is anticipated that Gates Cambridge Scholars will become leaders in helping to address global problems related to health, equity, technology, and learning - areas in which the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has particular interest.

Goldwater
Provides a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships of up to $7,500 to college students who intend to pursue graduate degrees and research careers in these fields. Sophomores may apply for two-year awards for undergraduate study and juniors may apply for one-year awards.

Javits
For students who demonstrate: 1) superior ability and achievement; 2) exceptional promise; and 3) financial need. Provides support for graduate study in selected fields in the arts, humanities, and social sciences leading to the doctoral degree or to the master's degree when that degree is the highest level terminal degree in the field. Eligible candidates will be entering graduate school during the next academic year or be in their first year of graduate study.

Madison
Fellowships for graduate study at the master's level of the principles, framing, and history of the U.S. Constitution for teachers of American history, American government, and social studies in grades 7-12 and for college seniors and college graduates who plan to become secondary school teachers of these subjects.

National Science Foundation
Graduate fellowships (for up to three years) for study leading to research-based master's or doctoral degrees in science, mathematics, technology, and engineering. Other eligible fields include: computer science, psychology (including cognitive, neuroscience, developmental, experimental, industrial/organizational, perception, personality, quantitative, and social), sociology, anthropology, and political science. Includes Women in Engineering and Computer and Information Science awards.

Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
Fellowships for up to two years of graduate study are made to new Americans in the following categories: 1) a resident alien (i.e., holder of a Green Card); 2) a naturalized U.S. citizen; or 3) the child of a US naturalized parent (other parent cannot be US born). Fellowships provide a maintenance grant of $25,000 and a tuition grant of one-half of the tuition cost of a U.S. graduate program (up to a maximum of $20,000). Study may be in any professional field or any scholarly discipline in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Fine and Performing Arts.

Rhodes
Two-year scholarships for graduate study at Oxford University. Intellectual distinction is a necessary but not a sufficient condition; candidates also must show excellence in qualities of mind and in qualities of person which, in combination, offer the promise of effective service to the world in the decades ahead.

Rotary
Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships can support a year of study abroad. The primary objective is "to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries and geographical areas." Applicants must check with their local Rotary Club about availability.

Truman
Up to $30,000 for graduate study awarded to students who plan to pursue careers in government or elsewhere in public service, and wish to attend graduate or professional school to help prepare for their careers. Awardees also are invited to a Truman leadership week after their junior year and a summer institute after college graduation. Students are juniors at the time of selection.

Udall
One-year scholarships of up to $5,000 for undergraduates who intend to pursue careers related to the environment and to Native American and Alaska Native undergraduate students who intend to pursue careers in health care and tribal public policy. Students may apply in their sophomore and/or junior year.
