I thought that TCNJ's
general education courses provided me with a well rounded education. I also
felt that through those courses, my writing
skills were maintained
and improved immensely from high school. I also thought that the amount of
field experiences we were given were beneficial
in preparing for my
teaching career. JPE was a great "mini" students teaching before
senior year.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2004 Major Code: MATA
Due to the numerous
general eduaction classes I took at TCNJ, I received an excellent overall
education. This along with classes in my major
prapared me greatly for
work at Graduate School.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2004 Major Code: MATC
I cannot believe it has
been eight months since graduation. Still, eight months later, I wish I could
still be at TCNJ. I value the education I received
more than anything and I
only wish that TCNJ has the grad program that I needed. However, I have taken
my ecperiences at TCNJ and used them
to hlep me succeed in
grad school. The only reservation: I
wish I had more direction (and earlier in my college career).
Graduation Date: 5/1/2004 Major Code: MATC
Currently, I'm employed
as an actuarial analyst. My TCNJ education tought me how to think and how to
learn very important skills in any position.
However, considereing I
was a statistics major, I do not have much business experience as I would like.
This is due to my own choice of courses in
school.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2004 Major Code: MATT
I'm going to comment on
questions 1 and 2 together. As far as the math department is concerned, I
received superb preperation for my career.
However, in the scope of
my overall TCNJ experience I feel math dominated too much of my schedule. I
wish I had had more open credits to use for
classes in other subjects
that could help make me a more well-rounded teacher. I would have loved to take
more history of language classes, both
of which I feel would
really help in today's classroom. I understand the state requires 30 credits in
a content area so I realize reducing the number
of high-level math
electives isn't really the answer, but I did feel as though classes I took late
Junior and Senior year did not do much to reinforce
the math skills I needed
to be an effective teacher.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2004 Major Code: MATT
TCNJ has equipped me for
my math teaching position on both necessary fronts: mathematics and education.
The math dept is rigorous,
challenging, and covers
not just the basics. The education department's greatest asset is the classroom
exposure and experience it provided me.
Sure, I learned important
teaching theories and srategies, but most of all, I got experience.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2004 Major Code: MATT
The math classes were
great. I only wish that there were more math education classes that I could
have taken. I thought that most of the
gen. ed.
Classes were a waste and
I wish I could have taken more math classes.

JPE and student teaching
have made me feel prepared to go into my first year of teaching. Classroom
experience was the most beneficial part of
my college education.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATA
I think too much time was
spent on general education classes. I
would have likes to take either a greater number or more in depth classes
relating
to my major.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
I learned so much at
TCNJ, inside and outside the classroom.
I feel as though I am entering the real world with preparation,
confidence, and
knowledge.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: ELMA
I felt that that
education was good but it was lacking in the respect that if you did not know
your major coming into college, you were screwed
because you would have to
squeeze all the requirements that you needed into your scedule.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATA
I enjoyed campus life and
the classes usually went smoothly.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
I think that I was well
prepared for my future as a math teacher.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: ECMA
I have had wonderful
teachers
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
The education itself was
good, but I feel the college lacks enough dynamic professors who can really get
students interested in the material they
are teaching. The best professor I had in college was in a
class I thought I would hate because of the material, but because of the
professor it
ended up being my
favorite class from college.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
Overall pretty good
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATA
I was not happy with on
campus housing. There should be coat
hangers in the bathrooms of school buildings.
Students should also be notifyed of
holds on
registration. Advisors and records and
registrations should be more knowledgeable and what courses count for what
degree
requirements.

I feel my education at
tcnj was well rounded and challenging.

I think some of the
classes that are forced upon on us here at TCNJ are a waste of time and will
never be used again in our lives.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
I feel extremely
well-prepared to enter the teaching workforce, thanks to much field experience.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
All professors were
knowledgable in their field, classes were always challenging, honors classes
gave me the opportunity to explore unusual
topics such as Human
Rights, I feel as though my education help mold me to becoming a well-rounded
person.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
The only problem I had
during my four years at TCNJ was the transformation. It was a very confusing
process and sometimes advisors and
professors were just as
confused as the students and couldn't provide the right assistance.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
I believe that general
education courses and the athens to new york and set classes were a waste of
time and had no effect on my preparation for the
real world.
It would have been better to pick the classes that I saw were relevant
to my life and my future rather than have them picked for me
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
I feel I was prepared in
content area and the pedagogy classes readied me for teaching.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATA
TCNJ claims to be very
diverse and is accepting of people from many different backgrounds. However, TCNJ does not have this diversity
present.
I feel diversity helps people learn about
other people and at the same time learn about themselves. This is not something you learn in a
classroom,
but should be part of the college
experience. TCNJ needs to create a
learing atmosphere that resembles the 'real world' with people from a very
diverse background. In addition, TCNJ makes it too easy for
someone to just follow the ordinary and does not push people to strive for the
unreachable. To do this I think the teachers should push
their students to realize that school is a job when you are here; and it is
your responsibility
to do your work. College is a priviledge, and the majority
TCNJ students take it for granted. This
is a fault of the college becuase they attract the
same types of students
every year. TCNJ needs to to reach to a
more diverse background of students applying.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATT
I feel that as a
secondary education major a course in special education should be required.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATA
I largely found the
teachers, students, and courses to be engaging, instructional, and challenging. Some of the courses, however, particularly
general education
classes, seemed to lack focus and direction.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATA
The school is well-known
and highly competitive. The environment is friendly and aesthetically pleasing.
Classes were challenging but not
impossible.

Graduation Date: 5/1/2005 Major Code: MATA
Some of the general
education courses did not seem very useful, as I feltthey could be compressed
into a smaller timeframe.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
I have had a wonderful
experience at TCNJ. There are so many opportunities to learn and become
involved in the college community. The
professors are great
scholars who truly enjoy their work and care about their students. That has
made my experience here so nice.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
I felt that my experience
at TCNJ was great. The math professors were exceptional and I always felt that
I was getting the best possible education.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
I think I learned a lot,
but do not think that taking certain classes will help me anywhere in my future
career.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
Overall I had a great
experience. The reason that I gave my
experience a B was because from the point of view of most of my classes I
really
enjoyed them and got a
lot out of them, however, the ones that were not enjoyable, were really really
not enjoyable. Also scheduling and
housing
issues were quite a
hassle and dampened the overall experience here so therefore it went down to a
3 as opposed to a 4.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
I really feel like I got
a great education here. I have no
regrets about choosing TCNJ.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
My experience here has
been good. I enjoyed the non-major
courses tremendously (in most cases) and found that it helped to offset the
difficult
major courses. The college can be difficult to deal with in
some cases, especially with student services offices such as financial aid and
student
accounts.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
I feel very well prepared
to enter the working world due to my time at TCNJ.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
Overall, I had a good
educational experience at TCNJ. Most of
my professors throughout my career at TCNJ were helpful and aided me in a good
eduction.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
Overall, the classes went
very well, however some professors outside are biased against those that are
not part of the major in which they teach in.
For example, a teacher in
the elementary ed department biased against people who aren't elementary ed majors.

Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
Overall, my educational
experience has been very good. I did
find there individual professors who were better or worse than others but
overall, they
were very qualified and
fair.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
I felt that I gained a
strong mathematical background.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
Excellent professors; was
challenged to perform to my highest ability
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
good overall, but I
wasted taking a few classes because of the transformed schedule business
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
Wonderful environment,
students and professors alike. Most
professors taught material well and challeneged me to think and do a lot of
work.
Beautiful campus with
many areas condusive to studying. Many
organizations available to provide fun and entertainment.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
Although I had a rocky
start fitting in at first, by now, I feel such a part of this school. It's
beautiful, supportive and I've made professional and social
contacts in this place
that I wouldn't take back for the world.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
TCNJ's academics exceeded
the expectations I came in with in 2002, and Iam very pleased with my
experiences here. The large amount of
gen.
ed.requirements would
probably be my only complaint.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
b/c some of the classes
which i took lacked the drive and focus I desired.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
I think that there were
entirely too many general education courses needed to graduate. I have been
told that their intention is to make us well
rounded students, but I
don't think that they have accomplished their goal. The think that has made me
a well rounded student is sharing
experiences outside of
the classroom with my professors and fellow students.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
Little to no appreciation
for Mathematical and Scientific Coursework.
Bad food--not vegetarian friendly.
Frequent Judeo-Christian overtures/lack
of accomodation towards
non Judeo-Christian traditions. Campus
Police [perhaps even deliberately] misadvise students on parking.
Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
School was fun, thought
the school really screwed me over a lot with housing, but it was overall a
pretty good experience.

Graduation Date: 5/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
I felt that some of the
classes I took weren't very useful, or material that could have been learned in
2 weeks was dragged out over an entire
semester. Also, I'm an off-campus student, and aside
from going to class, I rarely felt that anything going on here was worth
driving up for.
Graduation Date: 8/1/2006 Major Code: MATA
I wouldn't give it a four
because I certainly had more than a few bad experiences, but the creative
writing minor is amazing as are so many of the
English Dept. faculty.
Graduation Date: 8/1/2006 Major Code: MATT
I am very happy with the
education I receieved from TCNJ.
Graduation Date: 12/1/2006 Major Code: ELMA
TCNJ is both a beautiful
campus and a prestigious school. The
education program is excellent, and I feel that I am ready to work as a great
teacher.
