Current Projects
Capital Projects:
New Student Apartments: All foundations are completed, most slabs have been placed, roof trusses to begin the week of August 11, 2008. Brick work should begin the third week of August along with roofing. Project is on track for building enclosure in December 2008.
New Art and IMM Building: Project is underway with the parking lot reconfiguration completed. Foundations are underway along with many site utilities being installed inside and outside the site limits.
Active Asset Renewal Projects:
Steam Manhole Project: Work at the Social Science and Brower Student Center manholes is completed with minor lawn work left to do. The manholes at Music and Kendall are being prepared now for replacement. Sidewalks have been removed and protection measures are in place. Work in this area will continue into August 2008. Project is continuing well.
Packer Hall Roof Replacement: Project continues through the summer months. Chimney work is wrapping up and the flat roof areas are now being replaced.
Brower Student Center Basement Sprinklers: Pipe installations are underway and should be completed near the end of August.
Eickhoff Dish Washing Room: Project is moving forward very well. Dishwasher has been delivered and the installation of all the components has begun.
Ely-Allen-Brewster Roof Replacement: Most shingles and flat roofs have been replaced on Ely and Allen. Work will continue through August on Brewster and detailing all three roofs so the work on the roofs is completed before student arrival. Brick work and painting will continue through August and into September. Project is on time and under budget.
Fire Alarm Cable Upgrades: Base contract work is essentially completed with some additional work now to be done in August.
Travers Wolfe I.T. Closets: Project consists of installing new cooling units for the I.T. closets in the buildings. Bids have been received. Work will take place in the building over the summer of 2008.
