Skills

Writing has always been a passion of mine. I worked for my high school newspaper and on the executive staff of the yearbook. With the distinction as both valedictorian and student speaker at the Archdiocesan Honors Convocation, I had the privilege to practice public speaking when delivering speeches in front of a large audience. Furthermore, I received a first hand look at the television news industry as a student on ABC Best of the Class program.

I gained wonderful insight and experience working at the Daily Local News throughout summer 2009. I sharpened my interviewing skills and honed my writing style to be more thorough and engaging. I know myself to be a concise and clear writer and as an individual, I am extremely responsible, organized and determined. I intend to pursue a career in science journalism and writing for the School of Science website has given me a breadth of background knowledge in the field.
