Resources for TCNJ Students

 

It is not uncommon for people to experience difficulties in their relationships. Seeking support from professionals as well as friends can be helpful. Due to the sensitive nature of this study, the following is a list of resources for those who participate in the RRRLab studies to make them aware of the services both on and off campus, should they feel they are needed. The resources listed below cater to both men and women

 

On Campus:

The Office of Anti-Violence Initiatives – This office is located in Eickhoff Hall 159. Participants wishing to speak with a professional to receive more information about healthy relationships, domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking may contact Jackie Deitch-Stackhouse by email at deitch@tcnj.edu or at extension x2272.

Psychological Counseling Services – Students can speak with a counselor regarding any anxieties or worries regarding their current relationship, or one that has just ended. Students may also obtain short-term counseling services to address couple’s issues, or a variety of individual concerns , including: substance abuse, depression, anxiety, or eating disorders that may impact intimacy or dating relationships. This office is located in Eickhoff Hall 107, 609 771 2247.

Health Services – Located in Eickhoff Hall 107, students can meet with a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse to obtain information about physical exams, STD prophylaxis, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing. To reach Health Services call 609 771 2889. Also located in Health Services is Planned Parenthood, which provides similar resources for women only.

 

Off Campus:

Womanspace – Womanspace provides comprehensive services to individuals and families affected by dating aggression or relationship violence. Services are provided to both men and women. Their offices can be reached at (609) 394-2532. Womenspace operates a 24-hour Crisis Hotline to provide information and resources for emergency situations. The Crisis Hotline number is (609) 394-9000.
