Sunita Ahlawat awarded Fulbright Scholar Grant

Sunita Ahlawat, associate professor of accounting has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar Grant to lecture and do research at University College Dublin, Ireland during Fall 2008. The Fulbright Program, America’s flagship international educational exchange activity, is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Considered one of the most prestigious awards, this highly coveted and competitive program sends faculty members abroad annually to teach and conduct research. Recipients of the Fulbright Scholar awards are chosen on the basis of academic and/or professional achievement and because they have demonstrated extraordinary leadership potential in their fields.

Study Abroad

From fall 2007 through the summer of 2008, 36 business students took advantage of the opportunity to study abroad in diverse locations ranging from Central and South America, to Europe and Australia. Economics student granted paid summer 2008 internship with USDA

John Young, a rising economics senior, has received a paid summer internship with US Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service, working on variations in food-stamp take-up rates in the different states. John is one of only 5 undergrads chosen this year - most of the interns are graduate students. See USDA Internship for details.

New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association Honor Society Induction Ceremony

PBL National Leadership Conference

On June 24th, two rising senior finance majors placed in events at the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference. Mira Shah placed 7th in the nation in Financial Concepts and Shannon McGhee placed 10th in the nation in Financial Analysis and Decision Making.
