Mark Woodford, Ph.D.

woodfordDr. Mark Woodford is an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Counselor Education. He is a graduate of the College of William & Mary (B.A., M.Ed.) and the University of Virginia (Ph.D.) and is licensed as a professional counselor in New Jersey. He specializes in counseling services for adolescents, adults and their families who are struggling with substance abuse and addiction-related issues, and has worked in school- and community-based prevention programs, home-based family counseling programs, and in a residential treatment facility. Dr. Woodford provides clinical supervision to graduate students in counseling at The College of New Jersey.

Charleen Alderfer, Ed.D.

alderferDr. Charleen Alderfer is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Educational Specialist Post masters Degree Program in Marriage and Family Therapy in The Department of Counselor Education. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a nationals certified counselor. She has been practicing as a family therapist and supervising masters level family therapy students for over twenty-five years. She specializes in working with families and couples who are experiencing relational problems as well as difficulties with other systems. She received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Massachusetts and has since taught at the college level as well maintaining a private practice.

Marion Cavallaro, Ph.D.

cavallaroDr. Marion Cavallaro is an Associate Professor and Clinical Coordinator in the Department of Counselor Education and has over 25 years of experience in supervising and teaching graduate students in counseling. She specializes in counseling women, career counseling and working with adults and college students. She received her doctorate in counseling psychology from Ohio State University, is a licensed professional counselor in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and has worked in both college counseling and community mental health settings.

Mark Kiselica, Ph.D.

kiselicaMark S. Kiselica is a national certified counselor, a licensed professional counselor, a licensed psychologist, and a professor of counselor education at The College of New Jersey. His primary responsibilities include teaching COUN 501: Introduction to Counseling and providing individual supervision to practicum students. Dr. Kiselica is the author of over 100 professional publications, including Multicultural Counseling with Teenage Fathers (published by Sage in 1995), Confronting Prejudice and Racism during Multicultural Training (published by the American Counseling Association in 1999), the Handbook of Counseling Boys and Adolescent Males (published by Sage in 1999), and Counseling Troubled Boys (published by Routledge in 2007). Much of his research is focused on counseling boys and men and on the process of confronting racism. Dr. Kiselica served as a consulting scholar to the Federal Fatherhood Initiative during the Clinton Administration, and he is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and a former president of the Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinity. He is the editor of the Routledge Book Series on Counseling and Psychotherapy with Boys and Men.

MaryLou Ramsey, Ed.D

ramesyDr. MaryLou Ramsey is a Full Professor and School Counseling Program Coordinator in the Department of Counselor Education. Dr. Ramsey has over 35 years of clinical and supervisory experience in community agencies and higher educational institutions, including over 27 years experience in graduate counselor education, training, and supervision at The College of New Jersey. Dr. Ramsey specializes in multicultural education and counseling, group counseling, and clinical supervision and training. Dr. Ramsey received her doctorate in educational leadership, with a specialization in group counseling and supervision, from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey and has advanced study in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Group Psychotherapy. Dr. Ramsey is a CCE Approved Clinical Supervisor, a National Certified Counselor, a National Certified School Counselor, and holds New Jersey certifications in Student Personnel Services and Director of Student Personnel Services.

Nancy Scott

scottNancy Scott is the Director of the TCNJ Clinic. She is a graduate of The College of New Jersey (B.S.N. and M.A. in Counseling) and completed three years of post graduate work in family therapy with the Multicultural Family Institute (formerly The Family Institute of NJ). She is a licensed professional counselor, a national certified counselor and most recently received her Disaster Crisis Response Counselor certification. Nancy has over sixteen years of experience working with families, children and adolescents. She specializes in families in transition, divorce, remarriage, blended families, illness, end of life, as well as, grief and loss issues. Nancy serves on the Mercer County Mental Health Board, the Governor's Council on Youth Suicide Prevention and Mercer County's Traumatic Loss Coalition.

Atsuko Seto, Ph.D.

setoDr. Atsuko Seto is an assistant professor in the Department of Counselor Education at The College of New Jersey where she also coordinates the Human Services track in the Community Counseling Program. Dr. Seto serves as a faculty advisor for Alpha Epsilon chapter of the Chi Sigma Iota, which is the international honor society for students, professionals, and educators in the field of counseling. Dr. Seto is a licensed professional counselor in the State of New Jersey and a national certified counselor.

Dr. Seto received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Wyoming, which is a CACREP accredited doctoral program. During her doctoral study, she was selected as a recipient of the 2002 Leadership Fellowship Award sponsored by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). By collaborating with other international fellows, Dr. Seto has provided presentations on counseling development in Japan at the ACES conference.

Dr. Seto has written articles pertaining to multicultural counseling training, counseling Japanese immigrant families, and cross-national couples. Her areas of interests include use of creativity in counseling, working with children and families, and counseling culturally diverse populations.
