N.B.

  • A graduate student may register for a maximum of 12 credits during any given Fall or Spring semester.  Students may take no more than 9 credits (3 graduate courses) in the summer term.   Students should be aware that graduate classes are typically 3 sh each; a few classes are 1 or 2 sh.  Graduate students need to be registered for 9 sh to be considered full time.
  • Students may also choose to take ESLM 525.  This course is typically offered in Spring semesters only.  ESLM courses are not offered in summer sessions.
  • DFHH 530, ELEM 520 and DFHH 700 are offered in Spring semesters only.
  • DFHH 522 is offered in Spring semesters only.
  • DFHH 597 is offered in Fall semesters only.  Regardless of which student teaching placement a student does in the Fall, registration in DFHH 597 is required in the Fall.
  • Global student teaching is only available through ELEM 695 in Spring semesters.  Contact the STEP Office for more information about this option.
  • Students who earn the MAT degree in December are encouraged to have a substitute license prior to graduation.  This license enables a district to hire while the CEAS is being processed.  The NJ license is not typically available until February.
  • A student who has permission to transfer a graduate class to TCNJ must earn a grade of "B" or higher in that class for TCNJ to accept the class.
