What does STEP stand for?
STEP is an acronym for the Office of Support for Teacher Education Programs. This office handles field placements, teacher certification, and Praxis testing information.
What does PDSN stand for?
PDSN is the acronym for Professional Development School Network. This is the partnership The College has formed with 16 school districts all located within a 30-mile radius of The College.
When and how should I create a resume?
We'd suggest you begin a resume now. The Office of Career Services can help guide you through this process. Check out their website first. Then make an appointment to review your document with a Career Services specialist.

What does the term Earned Hours mean?
Earned hours are the credits granted for courses for which a student has successfully completed the course requirements, i.e. has earned a grade of D or higher.
What does the term Quality Points mean?
Quality points are calculated by multiplying the number of credits for a course by the weight of the grade (see grading system below) earned in that course. For example, a student earning a B in a four-credit course would receive 12 quality points (four credits multiplied by a grade weight of three). For more on this, see page 8 in the Academic Policies section of the Undergradute Bulletin.
What does the term Quality Hours mean?
Quality hours are the sum of credits a student attempts (regardless of whether the courses are passed) at TCNJ in courses graded A through F (including WF) at the 100 level or above.

How do I know when to register for classes?
Student registration windows open by class level with seniors registering first.

How do I withdraw from a course(s)?
You must complete the Course Withdrawal Request form. These forms are available in The Office of Records and Registration, Green Hall, Room 112. Deadlines for these withdrawals are strictly adhered to. You must consult the Schedule of Classes for deadline dates.
How do I drop/add a course(s)?
You may drop or add a course only during the drop/add period. The add/drop period is anytime before the semester begins and during the first week of classes. The College's electronic registration system (TESS or ASTRO) should be used to make these changes.
What do I need to do to take a course at another school over the summer?
Have you received approval to transfer that course into your major at TCNJ?

Notes:
You must have advance approval from Records and Registration for courses you plan to take elsewhere and transfer here.
Grades from other colleges/universities do not appear on your TCNJ transcript and they are not included in your G.P.A. The only exceptions are courses taken on National exchange. Your TCNJ transcript will list the total credits transferred from another college/university.
