All students in the School of Education have two majors. Your first major is Special Education. Your second major will be in a content area or discipline taught in schools. You may choose your second major from one of the following disciplines:
- Art
- Biology
- English
- History
- Psychology
- Math
- Math/Science/Technology
- Music
- Sociology
- Spanish
- Women's Studies
Students who elect to major in psychology or in sociology are advised that they will only be eligible to teach the elementary grades (K-5). Students electing other majors will be eligible to teach Special Education, K-12 or general education middle school in the discipline studied.
