Piper Kendrix Williams ( B.A. Spelman College, M.A., Ph.D. Rutgers, the State University of NJ) is an Assistant Professor in the English and African American Studies Departments. She regularly teaches various classes on topics in 19th and 20th Century African American Literature, African Diaspora Literature, and Multicultural Studies. Her article "Journeys of Détour in Maryse Condé's A Season in Rihata, " appears in the September 2004 edition of Canadian Woman Studies, Vol. 23, Number 2. She is the advising liaison to the School of Culture and Society for the African American Studies department and has worked with the Faculty Fellow Program and as the Advisor of TCNJ's Chapter of the National Council of Negro Women.
