Registering for the exam:
You may register for the exam after all your coursework is completed, or during the semester (including summer semesters) in which you are taking your final course(s) for the degree. The course number is ENGL 700. You must also have completed all incompletes and have a cumulative average of 3.0. (See the Graduate Bulletin.) Please note that registering for the exam and applying for graduation are separate steps.
After you register for the exam, the graduate director will contact you regarding the examination date and place, the Reserve list for the TEXT question, the TEXT and THEME questions, and guidelines for taking the test.
The M.A. exam is offered in fall, spring, and summer sessions (generally around mid-November, -April, and –July, respectively).
