Computer Engineering is a discipline that addresses a variety of technological problems associated with both the design and application of computers. Computer Engineering is concerned with the design, coordination and implementation of digital hardware and software. The work of the computer engineer and computer scientist is closely related. The primary distinction is that computer scientists tend to be more involved with computer software with less emphasis on hardware; whereas, computer engineers are more involved with computer hardware. You can find much more detail information about the Computer Engineering discipline by visiting the Association for Computing Machinery webpage.

The curriculum for the Computer Engineering Program offered by TCNJ provides breadth and depth across the field of computer science and engineering. The curriculum structure provides a balance view of hardware, software, hardware-software trade-offs, and basic modeling techniques used to represent the computing process. The Computer Engineering Program course of study includes courses from the Computer Science as well as the Electrical and Computer Engineering department.
