Engineering Management is a discipline designed to provide the individual with a solid base in sciences and a particular engineering discipline including the manufacturing and the management of technology, along with the knowledge in the areas of production, marketing, finance, and personnel. Through the integration of engineering and management education, students are prepared to work as first-line supervisors or plant managers. As first-line supervisors, they possess the technical knowledge to handle the problems that they will encounter, but they also have important knowledge in the areas of accounting, finance, production, marketing, and personnel that allows them to effectively use their technical knowledge in the operation of the corporation. You can find much more detail information about the Engineering Management discipline by visiting the American Society for Engineering Management webpage.
