Civil Engineering Materials Laboratory

The Civil Engineering Materials Laboratory provides hands-on instruction to students studying civil engineering materials and instructional background to students studying reinforced concrete. The laboratory is equipped to support the simultaneous practice of up to four teams of students. The laboratory equipment consists of: a Forney FX600 compression testing machine fitted with digital load monitor, laboratory concrete mixers with three cubic feet capacity each, cement mortar mixer, cement mortar molds, Vicat apparatuses, Gillmore apparatuses, portable bench beam scales, large capacity sample splitters and an aggregate screen shaker, concrete vibrator, slump test sets, unit weight test sets, air content test sets, curing tanks, crack monitors, and a crack detection microscope.
