The Control Systems Laboratory provides students with physical systems such as DC motor plants, coupled-tanks plants, and an inverted pendulum to study the concepts of analog and digital control systems.  The student workstations are complete instrumentation lab benches with Agilent 60-MHz oscilloscopes, 20 MHz function/arbitarary waveform generators, 6.5 digit digital multimeters, and 0-30V/0-5A triple output power supplies.  Each workstation also includes PC computers with National Instruments multifunction 12-bit analog and digital input/output boards for data acquisition, digital control, and control system modeling and simulation using the software packages LabBVIEW, MATLAB, and SIMULINK.
