Geometry in the Plane

 

4.2A  Geometric Properties

·        Understand and apply concepts involving lines and angles.

·        Properties of parallel and intersecting lines.

·        Complementary and supplementary angles.

·        Understand and apply properties of polygons:

-         Circles

-         Parallelograms

-         Trapezoids

·        Use logic and reasoning to make and support conjectures about geometric objects.

 

4.2B  Transforming Shapes

·        Understand and apply transformations.

 

4.2C  Coordinate Geometry

·        Use coordinates in four quadrants to represent geometric concepts.

·        Use a coordinate grid to model and quantify transformations.

 

4.2E  Measuring Geometric Objects

·        Develop strategies for finding the circumference of a circle.

·        Develop and apply strategies for finding area:

-         Circles

-         Parallelograms

-         Trapezoids

·        Develop and apply strategies for finding area by combining triangles and rectangles.
