Although students were playing organized Ultimate at TCNJ as early as 2002, it wasn’t until the fall of 2007 that the team had enough interest and talent to form a women’s team. As with any new program, we struggled for the first few years with numbers and the level of commitment of players. In the fall of 2008, the team officially voted on a name, colors, and logo to represent the group of girls who are now known as Anarchy. While Anarchy did not win too many games at first, the team’s love for the sport kept them coming back for more.
The fall of 2009 was a breakout season for Anarchy. After losing about half of the team to graduation a few months earlier, this season was going to make or break the women’s Ultimate program at TCNJ. A lot of lucky recruiting led to the formation of a team of talented athletes who fell in love with the sport. The rookie team finally had enough subs at tournaments, and they began to rack up wins against other competitive teams in the region.
Anarchy is constantly looking to bring their play to the next level and we are looking forward to what the future has to bring. We not only focus on physical conditioning, but we realize the importance of the relationships of the team members and have a great time both on and off the field.
