International and Off Campus Programs

All programs offered by TCNJ have been approved by the TCNJ faculty because they meet The College of New Jersey’s dedication to and standards of academic excellence.  The College of New Jersey sponsors programs which are indicated by "TCNJ" in the Sponsor column on the study abroad programs page.  TCNJ sponsored programs are broken down into two types:  Exchange Programs and Direct Enrollment Programs. Students at TCNJ can also study abroad through these other program sponsors: CIEE, NJSCIS, ISA and NSE.

TCNJ Exchange Programs and Payment

By agreement, TCNJ and an institution abroad each collect and retain tuition from their students.  Each institution then swaps students on an even basis.  Typically, students will pay room and board at the host institution (school abroad).  Such exchange agreements allow TCNJ to gain the benefit of having foreign students on the campus for a semester or a year. By going on an exchange program, you are giving the opportunity to a student from your host school to come to TCNJ and to enrich the diversity of the TCNJ campus!  Exchange programs that are currently offered are:

Northumbria Unviversity in Newcastle, England

The University of San Andres in Argentina

The University of Frankfurt in Germany

Kansai Gaidai University in Japan

Mahidol University

Thammasat University in Thailand

National Student Exchange (NSE)

TCNJ Direct Enrollment Programs

TCNJ directly places students at institutions abroad without going through a third party.  For most of the TCNJ Direct Enrollment programs students will pay the host institution's tuition directly to the host university.   For all TCNJ Direct Enrollment programs students will pay the host institution's room and board directly to the host institution.  Please be sure to ask about payment for your particular direct enrollment program.  Direct Enrollment Programs currently offered are:

The Ecomomics University of Prague (CESP) in Czech Republic

Oxford Study Abroad Program (OSAP) in England

American Business School in Paris, France

KCP Language Institute in Japan

The Washington Center in the United States

Sponsors/ Program Providers

Program providers are independent agencies that offer study abroad programs at universities abroad for an all inclusive fee that covers tuition, housing, and in some locations meals; administrative costs for on-site staff, arrangement of special classes, field trips, and excursions; and student services such as academic advising, counseling, orientations, group activities, and access to computer facilities.  Please be sure to ask about payment for your particular sponsored program of interest before filling in your Financial Aid form for your TCNJ application.  Programs are currently being offered through the following program providers:  CIEE, NJSCIS, ISA and The School for Field Studies.
