(SEDB) is for candidates who hold standard teaching certificates in fields other than special education, and is designed to meet the needs of teachers who wish to obtain certification as teacher of the handicapped.

Program-specific admission requirements for this degree sequence are:

• Standard New Jersey teaching certificate or equivalent in an area other than special education
• A course in child psychology
• A course in teaching reading
