Graduate Global Programs

Our Mission

The School of Education at The College of New Jersey is committed to preparing exceptional teachers and administrators.  We believe that all individuals can learn and grow, and deserve schools and educators that respect their individual needs and circumstances and give them the knowledge and skills to be successful in the larger society. Furthermore, we believe that education is key to addressing the inequalities that exist in the world, and that teachers and other school professionals can and should be agents for positive social change.

Global Programs

Our global programs serve current and prospective teachers and administrators who work in international schools or have an interest in international education.  We offer programs leading to certifcation and masters degrees in Elementary Education, Secondary Education (Math, Science, Language Arts or Social Studies), English as a Second Language, and Educational Leadership.  Our graduate courses are condensed and offered at times that are convenient for teaching professionals.  Certification programs are designed to be completed in two summers of study with additional coursework during the academic year.  Masters degrees generally require one additional summer of study.

Students may enroll in courses during the summer months at one of three international sites, and at selected sites during the academic year.  In Mallorca, Spain, during five weeks each summer, more than 18 graduate courses are offered in elementary, secondary, ESL, and educational administration.   At our site in Johannesburg, South Africa, coursework leading to elementary or secondary education and/or masters degrees is available.  In Bangkok, Thailand, students can pursue certificate and masters programs in Elementary or Secondary Education and Educational Leadership.

During the academic year the college offers programs in Hsinchu, Taiwan, Cairo, Egypt, and La Paz, Bolivia.

The College of New Jersey also accepts certain credits from students who complete work through The Principals' Training Center and offers courses in conjunciton with Performance Learning Systems.
