GraduationComprehensive ExaminationEvery candidate for a master's degree must take a Comprehensive Examination. The Comprehensive Examination requires the candidate to synthesize and apply knowledge acquired throughout the program. Therefore, the entire examination must be retaken if a candidate fails the first time. Students must preregister for the Comprehensive Exam. Specific exam dates may be obtained on site during the summer program. Refer to specific site information for more details regarding the exam. Application for Conferral of DegreeCandidates for the master's degree must file an Application for Conferral of Degree with the Office of Records and Registration, Green Hall 112. Degrees are conferred in December, May, and August. Our Office of Records and Registration can be contacted directly at balle@tcnj.edu. ATTENTION !! ALL GRADUATE STUDENTS INTENDING TO GRADUATE IN DECEMBER 2008 - YOU MUST APPLY TO GRADUATE!! You may apply on TESS until September 26, 2008 for December 2008 Graduation, January 28, 2009 for May 2009 Graduation, and up to February 18, 2009 for August 2009 Graduation. After these dates, you may print and fax the paper form for completion of certificate program or graduation to 609.637.5111. Paper forms must be faxed by March 15, 2009. A $75.00 fee will be assessed to your account the first time that you apply to graduate. We will accept late applications, but it may affect the availability of your physical diploma at the global site. Be sure to apply for the semester you intend to graduate. If you have already applied to graduate in a previous semester, but were unable to complete your program at that time, you will still need to reapply to graduate in the semester you intend to complete your program. You will not be assessed an application fee for reapplying to graduate. You will be charged a late fee of $35.00 if you apply after the deadline for the semester in which you intend to graduate. After the application deadline you will be required to fill out a paper application and you will be assessed the late fee. This fee may be waived in special cases.
