Locating the Physical Address
How do I find my
physical address?
The physical address, is found on your computer. It is a 12 digit unique number which identifies your computer on our network. To locate this address follow the directions below depending on your operating system:
NOTE: You do not want a PPP or an AOL Adapter. Your adapter address should start with "00-".

Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME
- Click on the Start button and then select Run.
- In the run field type: "winipcfg".
- Click on OK.
- Select your ethernet adapter from the drop-down menu.
- Make a note of your adapter's physical address.

Microsoft Windows 2000/XP
- Click on the Start button and then select Run.
- In the run field type: "cmd".
- Click on OK.
- At the command prompt, type in "ipconfig /all" and press enter.
- Make a note of your adapter's physical address.

Macintosh OS X
- Select System Preferences from the Apple dropdown menu in the top left corner of your screen.
- Select the Network icon from the Internet and Network submenu.
- Double-click (built-in) Ethernet.
- Select the Ethernet tab.
- Record your Ethernet ID.
- Make a note of your adapter's physical address.
