How do we set up the web account on TCNJ's web server (beast)?
You will need to create a folder for the web site of the TCNJ web server.
Directions are using Microsoft Windows XP.
- Click on the Start Menu and click "Run."
- Once the Run box opens, type: "telnet beast.tcnj.edu"
- On the box that opens up, you'll want to login with your club/organization's unix username and password.
- Once logged in, type: "wwwsetup" and press enter.
This will set up your web site on the TCNJ server. You may view your premade home page at http://www.tcnj.edu/~unixname/ where "unixname" is the unix username of your club/organization.

How do we redirect a web site to another TCNJ web server or an outside Web Hosting provider?
1. Create index.html page with a meta refresh tag.
2. Connect to your site using an FTP software.
3. Replace the current index.html page with the new page that you created.
4. Delete the other files in the www folder if you are no longer using this web site.
See tutorial.
How do we add events to the Campus Events Calendar?
The Web Alerts application is web-based and requires TCNJ ID and password for your organization. A simple online form makes it easy for users to begin scheduling alerts on the campus events calendar, and for consideration as a press release. Alerts can be scheduled in advance by selecting a "Begin" date in the future. When an alert reaches its "End" date it is automatically archived.
Most student organization that have established a web account are already included in the system. If you are unable to login in with your organization's email account, please Request a WebAlerts Account
