CWA and IFPTE Furlough Information for

Unit Members and their Supervisors

The recently ratified Memorandums of Agreement between the State of New Jersey and the  CWA and IFPTE unions include a total of 10 unpaid furlough days that need to be selected and served. There have been many inquiries concerning such unpaid furlough days, including the scheduling of Self-Directed Furlough (SDF) days and taking multiple days in a week.

Provided below are links to documents that address the issues that have come to our attention and provides direction from the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations regarding the implementation of the furlough days.

To allow for effective implementation, the deadline for scheduling SDF days through December 31st is extended to August 14th. This does not preclude any managers and supervisors from reviewing and approving requests before August 14th.
