Emergency Loan Program

The Office of Human Resources maintains an Emergency Fund for the purpose of providing full-time employees with short term emergency loans. The loans may be recommended by the Assistant Director of Human Resources or Payroll Services. The loans may be to a maximum of $500.00 and must be repaid from the employee's next pay check. In the case of extreme emergencies, if the size of the loan would cause undo hardship to the employee to repay in the next pay period, reimbursement may, with the authorization of the Associate Vice President of Human Resources, be broken into a maximum of (4) four multiple payments. Eligibility for an emergency loan is contingent upon the employee has sufficient vacation and/or administrative leave time equal to the scheduled loan period.

The request for emergency funds must be based on unforeseen circumstances which are of a serious nature (i.e. medical, hazard, accident related). The employee must have written dated documentation that includes their name and a description of the event.

Each employee is limited to two (2) such loans per fiscal year. Exceptions may be granted upon the recommendation of the Associate Vice President of Human Resources with the approval of the Treasurer. The Emergency Fund does have limited resources. Loans will be reviewed for acceptance on "first come first serve" basis.
