Employee Assistance Program
Please be advised that the Office of Human Resources provides confidential referral services to employees seeking personal or family counseling. Counseling issues may range from assistance in managing serious illness, loss due to death in the family, or problems due to drug or alcohol addiction. Employees may contact the Office of Human Resources at extension 3306 for referral information available through the various health benefit programs. Employees may also be referred by their supervisors.
In addition to the referral services noted above, employees may contact Dr. Larry Gage, Assistant Director for Psychological Counseling Services, for a confidential consultation and referral as needed. This consultation is offered to help employees identify the appropriate outside agencies available for ongoing counseling. For further information call extension 2247.
For confidential assistance with substance abuse or addiction, employees may contact Joe Hadge, Coordinator of Alcohol and Drug Education Program. The Alcohol and Drug Education Program will provide up to 4 sessions and facilitate referrals to outside agencies for appropriate follow-up counseling. A Resource Room with alcohol and drug education information is available to employees in Eickhoff Hall Room 159 between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Individual department training in alcohol and drug abuse and department visits are offered by this office. For further information call extension 2571.
The following list contains the telephone number of state sponsored medical plans and the corresponding contacts for personal counseling resources. The list also identifies those plans which assign the Personal Care Physician (PCP) as the resource contact.
