Step Increments

Classified Employees

Salary increases from one step to another are referred to as "increments." Increments for classified employees are awarded annually through the 8th step on the employee's anniversary date, provided he/she has performed satisfactorily during the preceding evaluation period. Advancement to the 9th step is awarded 18 months after the preceding anniversary date. Employees who have been at the 9th step of the same range for 24 months or longer shall be eligible for movement to the 10th step providing their performance warrants this salary adjustment. The anniversary date is the biweekly pay period in which an employee is eligible, if warranted by performance and place in the salary range, for a salary increase.

AFT Unit Employees

Salary increases from one step to another are referred to as "increments." Increments for AFT unit employees are awarded annually through the 8th step on the employee's anniversary date, provided he/she has performed satisfactorily during the preceding evaluation period. Advancement to the 9th step is awarded 18 months after the preceding anniversary date. Employees who have been at the 11th step of the same range for 52 full pay periods or longer shall be eligible for movement to the 12th step if warranted by performance. The anniversary date is the biweekly pay period in which an employee is eligible, if warranted by performance and place in the salary range, for a salary increase.
