Ink, The College of New Jersey's student-run creative writing organization, supports the literary and creative writing community at the college by hosting meetings, workshops, and events. Group meetings take place every Wednesday at 2:00 in the Bliss Hall lounge.
Meetings
ink meetings take place every Wednesday at 2pm in Bliss Lounge. Once a month, we hold a workshop meeting, where we workshop writing from ink members. Each meeting begins with a fun creative writing exercise, so come prepared to write!
Visiting Writers Series with Shelley Jackson
Join ink in the first installment of the Visting Writers Series as Shelley Jackson reads from her work and answers audience questions. The event will take place Thursday, October 6th at 4:30pm in the Library Auditorium. A reception will follow the event, where books can be purchased and signed.
Student Reading Series - Round 1
The first SRS of Fall 2011 will take place on Thursday, October 13th at 8pm in the Library Auditorium. We are accepting applications until Saturday, October 1st at midnight. You can download an application here.
Halloween Coffeehouse
Bring your scariest writing to the annual ink Halloween Coffeehouse, running this year on Friday, October 28th at 8pm in the T/W link. Enjoy refreshments while listening to spooky stories that will scare the pants off you.
Visiting Writers Series with Denise Duhamel
Join ink in the first installment of the Visting Writers Series as Denise Duhamel reads her original poetry and answers audience questions. The event will take place Monday, November 7th at 4:30pm in the Library Auditorium. A reception will follow the event, where books can be purchased and signed.
Student Reading Series - Round 2
The second SRS of Fall 2011 will take place on Thursday, November 17th at 8pm in the Library Auditorium. We are accepting applications until Saturday, November 5th at midnight. You can download an application here.
THE GOODS
Celebrate student arts at The Goods, an all day celebration of student arts taking place on December 3rd from 12pm until 8pm. From 12-7, student performers will take the stage, sharing original poetry, fiction, and other writing, as well as performing music or any other form of creative expression. At 7pm, a headlining writer will read original work and answer audience questions. Stay tuned to find out who will headline this year! Applications are due Saturday, November 19th at midnight and can be downloaded here.
