  • Transformed first quarter course for first year students designated "Open Option Science."
  • Course Description: Required of all first year open option science students, this course provides an introduction to studying science and mathematics at the college level, to the academic and other support resources at The College of New Jersey and to the major programs offered within the School of Science. It is grounded in theory of group developmental advising, and students will explore career and collegiate expectations and goals and their own active role in their undergraduate experience.

  • Ten week course required of all entering first year students at TCNJ
  • Course Description: As in all college first year seminars - an introduction to College Policies and Procedures, how to succeed in your first year and at College in general, and an overview of the services and resources on campus. As in all first year seminars in the School of Science - how to study science, lab safety, major and career options and advising. Unique to the open option student - curriculum sequence, how to choose a major and career, keeping options open while making progress toward a degree.
