Objective

To obtain a teaching position in the English department of a high school or middle school, where I can use my love of reading to inspire students to read more and develop a love for learning.

  • Sophomore Field Experience

    • Observed a 7th grade English class at Grace A. Dunn Middle School, Trenton, NJ 08628

    • Observed a 11th/12th grade Journalism class at Ewing High School, Ewing, NJ 08628

  • Junior Field Experience- West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North, West-Windsor, NJ

    • Observed 3 classes- ­AP English Literature, Speech and Drama, and Shakespeare.
    • Assisted the teacher with various classroom activities, such as leading discussion, handing out and collecting papers, and grading.
    • Planned and taught a two-week lesson on Henry IV Part 1 Acts 1 and 2 for the Shakespeare class.
  • Senior Student Teaching Experience- Ben Franklin Middle School, Levittown, NJ

    • Observed five 8th grade English classes for three weeks.
    • Assumed all teacher responsibilities for the five classes for the remaining 12 weeks.
    • Planned and taught a Poetry unit and formal essay writing unit.
