Before an Advising Appointment

Regardless of your year or program of study, ALL students seeking advising MUST come to an advising appointment with a Program Planner already completed.  Faculty will then review the Program Planner with students and advise them based on a variety of factors which include, in part, what requirements have already been satisfied.

Accessing and Completing Program Planners

(1)  Download the applicable Program Planner.  Keep in mind that Program Planners are based upon the year of matriculation into a major, NOT the year you entered the TCNJ!  If you matriculated into a major in the spring, you will use the program planner of the previous fall semester.  So, for example, if you did not declare Criminology and Justice Studies as your major until the spring of your sophomore year, the right Program Planner for you would be the one for the year after you started at TCNJ.

2007:  LWJA - Criminology & Justice Studies - BS
2006:  LWJA - Criminology & Justice Studies - BS
            LWJR - Criminology & Justice Studies -BS/MA
2005:   LWJA - Criminology & Justice Studies - BS

2004:   LWJA - Criminology & Justice Studies - BS

2003:   LWJA - Law & Justice - BS

(2)  Review the pattern of degree requirements in your Program Planner. You can fill in the appropriate information and save the Web Copy* of the program planner on your PC. Instructions for updating Program Planners pdf icon

Press here to verify the Liberal Learning requirements.

(3)  Bring a completed copy of your Program Planner with you to your advising appointment.

Graduation Reminder

To apply for Graduation, click here to access TESS.  Select Student Records, Account, and Personal Information Access.  Login with you Student ID and Pin numbers.  Under Student Records, at the bottom, there is a link for Graduation Application.  Select your intended graduated date.  Verify the information;  add any necessary additional information; and then click "submit form."

Advising Holds

All students in the School of Culture and Society who are on academic probation (i.e., a cumulative grade point average below 2.0), will receive a registration hold that can only be lifted by their advisor or department chair.  If you are on academic probation, be sure to schedule an appointment with your advisor in advance of the time you are eligible to register for class so s/he can arrange to have the hold on your registration lifted.
