The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a service organization that stemmed
from the Campus Life Department of The College of New Jersey. Until the early
1980’s, members of LDP were not know as LDP Facilitators but as Assistants to
Campus Life Professionals. Leadership workshops, retreats, and training programs
for TCNJ students fell under the direction of the Campus Life Office. Students
were invited to present programs with professional public speakers on various
aspects of leadership. In the early 1980’s, the professional staff of the Campus
Life Office decided that the students of TCNJ were capable of developing the
leadership programs needed on campus. Encouraged by the Campus Life Office,
students formed what is known today as the Leadership Development Program. This
service organization that began with a handful of students has developed into a
sizable group dedicated to serving the campus and surrounding community through
leadership training. |
