TCNJ ERP Lab

The first thing we do for an experiment is attach the electrode cap. We use a modified version of the Neuroscan QuickCap.  The hydraulic chair allows us to prepare each electrode comfortably.

During this process, each electrode in the cap is filled with electrode gel. The gel is worked into the hair to reduce the electrode impedance or to ensure that we get a good recording from each electrode.

The left hand side of our lab contains the equipment that collects ERP data and presents stimuli to participants. The computer on the far left records the ERP data.  The middle computer presents stimuli to participants.  The computer on the right is used to process the ERP data.

Our EEG amplifier is between the two computers. We use a
contact precision instruments EEG amplifier to record EEG and EOG.

Located beside the amplifier is a video monitor that is connected to a camera, which allows us to monitor participants during the experiment.

We have a second computer station for data processing and analysis.
