The Committee for Cultural and Intellectual Community

2011-2012 Campus Theme:

The Pursuit of Innovation

CCIC is interested in co-sponsoring programs that look at the process of innovation, great innovators, innovations that led to dramatic changes, and the role innovation plays in solving problems and leading to technological, intellectual, and artistic breakthroughs. While innovation is frequently perceived as focusing on technological innovation, we also encourage proposals on innovation in the arts and humanities, and in all human endeavors.

The theme has been developed to support programming that is already planned as well as encourage the development of new programs. We invite individual community members, campus departments and student organizations to develop programs related to this theme.

Guidelines

In general, CCIC will provide matching funds for events related to the theme. The committee seeks to sponsor a wide range of events related to the theme throughout the campus community. There is generally a $2,000 limit on requests per proposal and an expectation of co-sponsorship. CCIC will provide at most 50% of the funds for an event.
