The American People in the Great Depression

Course Description

The economic collapse of the early 1930s left its mark on all Americans.  Millions of industrial workers lost their jobs and their homes.  The banking system collapsed.  America cities, the symbols of prosperity only a few years before, filled with hardship.  Life in rural America became ever more difficult.  What had gone wrong?  Political leaders, economists, and ordinary Americans struggled to make sense of what had happened and to figure out how to rebuild.
