Boolean Keyword Search Tips

Use the Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to combine search terms.

In addition, try some of these useful keyword search features:

Truncation
Use a question mark (?) to find plurals and variant endings of words.

teenage? finds teenager, teenagers, teenaged, etc.

Phrase search
Enter two or more words with quotation marks to do a phrase search

"child development" retrieves only records that include this phrase

Parentheses
Use parentheses to group search terms.

("capital punishment" or "death penalty") and (race or minorities) groups your concepts, using the OR connector, before combining them with others by using AND
