Full Text
The complete electronic text of an article is called the full text. Some databases, like Academic Source Complete and JSTOR, provide entire articles online. The Library's description pages for databases indicate whether a database includes full text or some full text.

Do online research databases that provide full text also include images that were published in the article's paper format?

Yes, there are a few databases - Academic Source Complete, for example - that provide PDF full text . This photographic image includes the article plus any graphs, charts, pictures and text. If the database vendor does not have the right to reproduce images with the full text, you will see a statement like "the photograph of dna cells is omitted."
