Recalls & Search Services
On requests of current TCNJ students, faculty, staff members or alumni the Library may recall an item that has been in circulation for no less than 7 days. The borrower has 3 days counted from the time the item has been recalled or from the original due date--whichever comes first-- to return recalled library material. A recall notice that specifies a new due date for an item is generated by the Library and e-mailed or mailed to the borrower to whom it is charged. When the item is returned, the person requesting it is notified by e-mail, phone or mail and the item is held for a pick-up at the Access Services Desk for 5 days from the date of notification.
Library users may request a search for materials not found on the shelves that are not checked out already to another person. A Library user will be notified about the search results by e-mail, phone or mail within two (2) days of placing a request with the Access Services staff. Materials that are found will be held for pick-up at the Access Services desk for 10 days after notification is issued.
