(Dates vary.) Indexes scholarly and popular journal articles from 1988-1996. Also includes the catalog of the Schomberg Center for Research in Black Culture, which cites periodical articles plus publications in other formats, by and about people of African descent. Subject focus is on the humanities, social sciences and arts. Geographic focus is on the Americas, Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa. Works cited are primarily in English, plus a variety of international languages.

Access

  • Available for users on the TCNJ Campus. If you are in the library, you will be able to access all of our Application Explorer Databases. If you are in other locations on campus, e.g., your dorm room or a computer lab, you will see the databases that are licensed for campuswide use only. Note: Application Explorer Databases are not accessible from off-campus.

    On the task bar, click on Start and select Application Explorer Applications. On the next screen, click on the Tree Icon and on the following screen; click on the Library Database folder to display databases available from your location. If the computer you are using has a Application Explorer folder on the desktop, double-clicking the Application Explorer folder will work as well. Note: The screens you see after selecting Application Explorer Applications may vary, depending on your location on campus. If you are in a lab, ask the lab assistant for access help, if needed.


Our licensing agreements require that off campus access to most of these electronic resources be limited to students, faculty and staff of The College of New Jersey. However, all resources are available from within the library.
