Lions’ EMS Advisor Meeting Minutes

Growth Committee- Amit and George

·         Trying to set up “Meet and Greet” with Campus Police

o        Possible presentation by Campus Police

·         New Chief of Police should be announced within the next week

 

Advisors- Res Life Issues

·         Opinions shared on whether or not interactions with ResLife have improved

o        Agreed that it depends on staff for the night

·         Incident reports have been written when issues arose

·         Discussed EMS policy/duties (medical condition) vs. ResLife policies/duties

·         Lions EMS may request for Pennington Road to not be called if RMA is received

·         In future, should start these conversations with ResLife during Welcome Week

 

Chief /President- George

·         New Call Reports

o        Discussed with Scott if we need to add a place to sign off when we transfer care

§         Not legally necessary but suggested

o        When order new forms, we can change format

o        Possible Add-On Sheet

§         Additional questions, checklist, or short-term memory test to further assess patient

·         Contacted Jim Norfleet- VP of Student Affairs

o        Will be meeting with him on Oct. 17th

o        Topics to be discussed

§         Make him aware of how we work and what we do

§         Provide possible suggestions/goals and provide information on other collegiate EMS policies

§         Ask for direction for further actions

·         Radios – Scott

o        Can put Pennington Road frequency onto radios

§         Shared by all county squads

§         May not reach far enough

o        Discussed LIFECOM emergency line

§         Only to be used to request or cancel unit, or give updates on patient

·         Dispatch During Day

o        Students should call 911 first

§         Holly mentioned that an email will be sent out campus-wide

o        If dispatched during the day, we can call x2167 for more information

 

Training- Mark

·         CPR classes great success- over 80 people trained

o        Possible future training within community

o        Possible training of additional instructors

·         EMT Classes

o        This January – April

·         May do training with Campus Police

·         Mass Casualty

o        Triage training was suggested by Scott

 

Treasurer- Danielle

·         Waiting to hear back from SFB on Capital Equipment Request

·         Will inform Holly if training is necessary
