Minutes:
Representative from SGA (Justine)
Kevin Mnich (Chief/President)
· Went over the call statistics from last month (there were over 50 calls this last month which is much higher than usual)
· The top 10 responders were announced and they will be given a small gift in return for all their hard work
· There will be a CRP/AED class held by LEMS for all members (and open to the general TCNJ public) before Christmas break, however the details are still being worked out, so an email will be sent out once a date and time is decided
Caroline Vizthum (Deputy Chief)
· Thanked all members who have attended the recent standbys and have taken shifts over the weekend
· During the next meeting there will be a form that every active member will asked to fill out so a schedule can be set up for next semester
· Changes will probably take place in how the shifts are scheduled next semester because there are many more members now that will be on call
Kristin Caruso (Training/Personnel Captain)
· Has been putting together the member files
o Any new members or members with new certifications should give copies to Kristin for their files
o She and Kevin are planning to create a computer file compiling all the information from the member files for the First Aid Council at the end of the semester
· Emails have been sent out to all members who still need to receive orientations in order to ride shifts and so those members should reply back in order to set up orientation times
Aedin Fortune (Equipment Officer & Executive Vice President)
· All members riding shifts should make sure that all their equipment is back in the LEMS closet by 5 PM the following day
· There is currently an orange bag missing from the closet (appears to have gone missing between Wed and Fri last week)
· To ensure that all equipment is accounted for, a sign up sheet will be in the closet from now on which all members must sign each time they take equipment in and out
· If you personally pass off equipment to another member, make sure that you at least tell your crew chief and/or the crew chief that is on during the next shift so the equipment can be kept track of
· The next drill meeting, which will be last general meeting for the semester, will be on December 8th
o This will be a Christmas “party”/drill and we will be taking a yearbook picture
o If you come for the picture, you will receive ˝ standby credit
o Also, please make sure that you wear your LEMS t-shirt that day for the picture
Charlie Concodora (Logistics Officer)
Chuck Rouse (Vice President of Member Services)
Ricky Blasi (Treasurer)
o An email will be sent out soon to who is interested
Nimit Saraiya (Secretary)
Doug Smith (Fundraising Chair)
· Was not present at the meeting but Aedin passed on the news that he is currently working out the details on the World Series of Poker and Chinese auction fundraiser and hopefully one of these events will be ready to go in about two weeks
Ray Shupak (Growth Chair)
· Proposal has been written up for obtaining swipe-card access for all LEMS crew chiefs so they have access to all residential buildings for emergency calls and it will be sent out soon
Bruce Cheong (Publicity Chair/Webmaster)
· Will be sending out an email to set up a meeting with his Publicity committee
NEW BUSINESS
Kevin Mnich (Chief/President)
· The orange bag is missing and so whoever has it should please return as soon as possible
·
Due to the recent problem with equipment, a new
protocol will be instituted as of tonight, wherein all crew members should call
their crew chief by 7:45PM when they are on call and let him/her know that they
have their equipment (radio and bag) so they can ensure that all equipment is
kept track of and that the crew chief knows for certain that his/her entire
crew will be responding that night
·
The Saturday before, of, and after Thanksgiving
(which are 11/20, 11/27, and 12/4) there will be a campus-wide electric
shutdown from 2AM to 6AM so please make sure that if you are on call that you
have flashlights available since no lights will be on (including even walkway
lights) and also make sure that your radios are fully charged before the power
goes out on those days so that they will be functional during these four-hour
periods (also be aware of the fact that the elevators will be down in T/W so be
aware of that if there are any calls within towards buildings)
